| What is the use level of Sytenol® A? | 0.5-1%. Lotion containing 0.5% Sytenol® A was clinically proven to address multiple signs of aging including reducing wrinkle surface area and hyperpigmentation. |
| Can more than 1% of Sytenol® A be used in a formula? | It is not recommended to go above the 1% use level of Sytenol® A. It can be irritating at higher levels. |
| Is Sytenol® A China approved? | Yes, Sytenol® A is approved for use in China, but it is still under the 3-year monitoring period. It is also REACH compliant and globally approved. |
| What is Sytenol® A soluble in? | Sytenol® A is a hydrophobic ingredient and miscible in a wide range of emollients and vegetable oils. It is not soluble in water and water-soluble ingredients. |
| What is Sytenol® A incompatible with? | Because Sytenol® A is a phenolic compound, it is incompatible with sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide. |

| What range does the pH of the product containing Sytenol® A need to be in? | Sytenol® A is a phenolic compound and needs to be formulated into products within the acidic pH range (below 6.5). Formulators should check the pH range acceptable for all other ingredients as well. |

Iron or copper ions can affect the color of a product with Sytenol® A. These metals ions can be present in water and can also be produced by UV radiation. To avoid interaction with Sytenol® A and metal ions, the following measures can be taken: • Add a chelating agent at 0.1-0.3% (Examples: EDTA, EDDS, Sodium Phytate) • Use airless and/or opaque packaging |
