A new rebuttal commentary to : “Is bakuchiol the new skincare hero?”from Raja Sivamani, MD, Board Certified Dermatologist,
has been published by the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology  (doi:10.1111/jocd.14270)

Dr. Sivamani’s comments: We read the recent commentary by Dr. Natalia Spierlings entitled “Cosmetic commentary: Is bakuchiol the new ‘skincare hero’?” with interest as she delineated her perspective on the recent clinical studies on bakuchiol. She importantly and correctly points out the need for more high-quality studies in regards to topical bakuchiol. However, there are several misunderstandings about the research studies and several omissions in her commentary.
