| What is Asyntra® D-Stress composed of? | Asyntra® D-Stress is a blend of 3 of Sytheon’s well-known and studied ingredients. It contains 1 part Synovea® EL (INCI: Ethyl Linoleate), 1 part Sytenol® A (INCI: Bakuchiol) and 2 parts Hydra Synol® DOI (INCI: Isosorbide Dicaprylate). |
| Can more than 4% of Asyntra® D-Stressbe used in a formula? | It is not recommended to go above the 4% use level of Asyntra® D-Stress. It can be irritating at higher levels. |
| Is Asyntra® D-Stress China approved? | No, Asyntra® D-Stress is not China approved, but it is REACH compliant and globally approved. |
| What is Asyntra® D-Stress soluble in? | Asyntra® D-Stress is a hydrophobic ingredient and miscible in a wide range of emollients and vegetable oils. It is not soluble in water and water-soluble ingredients. |
| What is Asyntra® D-Stress incompatible with? | Because Sytenol® A (part of the blend) is a phenolic compound, Asyntra® D-Stress is incompatible with sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide. |
| Does Asyntra® D-Stress color the product? | Does Asyntra® D-Stress color the product? No! While Asyntra® D-Stress is light yellowish brown in color, there should be no color in the final formula and no color change over time. |
| Is Asyntra® D-Stress heat stable? | Yes! Asyntra® D-Stress is heat stable and can be added directly to the oil phase. |
| What range does the pH of the product containing Asyntra® D-Stress need to be in? | Sytenol® A, part of the Asyntra® D-Stress blend, is a phenolic compound and needs to be formulated into products within the acidic pH range (below 6.5). Formulators should check the pH range acceptable for all other ingredients as well. |
| Can anything affect the color of the product containing Asyntra® D-Stress? | Iron or copper ions can affect the color of a product with Asyntra® D-Stress. These metals ions can be present in water and can also be produced by UV radiation. To avoid interaction with Asyntra® D-Stress and metal ions, the following measures can be taken: • Add a chelating agent at 0.1-0.3% (Examples: EDTA, EDDS, Sodium Phytate) • Use airless and/or opaque packaging |
